Since opening in 1999, the College has continued to develop in both size and diversity, providing an environment where each student is known, challenged and supported.

Throughout their time at the College, students engage in a deliberate range of academic, co-curricular and relational challenges. These experiences are designed to build the capabilities that underpin growth: thinking critically, communicating with clarity, understanding themselves and others, and responding constructively to challenges. This work is framed through OnTRAC, which focuses on developing students who are Reflective, Resilient, Relational and Resourceful in how they learn and live.

From Years 7–10, students build these capabilities through their learning across the NSW Curriculum. In Years 11 and 12, students are able to select from three different pathways: the International Baccalaureate program; the Higher School Certificate; or Vocational Education options. Across all year levels, this learning is supported by a structured wellbeing program that develops habits, relationships and self-awareness over time.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), introduced at The Riverina Anglican College in 2020, is a cornerstone of the College’s commitment to creating genuine pathways to possibility. Designed as a globally recognised pre-university qualification, the Programme equips students with the knowledge, skills and mindset needed to thrive in higher education and beyond.

At its core, the IBDP develops intellectually curious, capable and globally minded young people. Students are encouraged to think critically, communicate effectively and engage with complex ideas from multiple perspectives; qualities increasingly valued by universities, employers and communities. For those seeking strong university access and authentic readiness for tertiary study, the IB Diploma offers a distinctive advantage. Its combination of academic rigour, breadth and emphasis on independent learning fosters the habits of mind essential for success after school.

Student outcomes at the College reflect the strength of this pathway. In the November 2025 cohort, over 25% of IB students achieved an ATAR of 90 or above, demonstrating both high levels of academic achievement and competitive access to leading university courses.

A defining feature of the IB Diploma is its broad and balanced curriculum. Students study six subjects across key learning areas: English, a second language, humanities, science, mathematics, and either a creative arts subject or an additional subject from another area. This structure allows students to maintain flexibility while also pursuing depth through Higher Level subjects in areas of strength or interest. As a result, students graduate with a well-rounded academic profile and a wide range of future options.

Beyond subject content, the Programme’s core components play a critical role in shaping capable, independent learners. Theory of Knowledge challenges students to reflect on how knowledge is constructed and evaluated, strengthening critical thinking across all disciplines. Creativity, Activity and Service encourages growth beyond the classroom through creative pursuits, physical activity and meaningful community engagement, fostering resilience, balance and social responsibility. The Extended Essay, a 4000-word independent research project, provides invaluable preparation for university by developing skills in inquiry, analysis, time management and academic writing.

Together, these elements create a genuine pre-university experience. Spanning two years, the Programme requires sustained effort, effective organisation and the ability to manage competing demands. Assessment includes both internal tasks and external examinations, with a criterion-based approach that focuses on demonstrated achievement.

The IB Diploma’s global recognition further enhances its value. Students receive a score out of 45, which can be converted to an ATAR for Australian university entry, while also being recognised internationally. This makes the Programme an ideal choice for students considering study pathways both within Australia and overseas.

TRAC offers a wide range of subjects in the HSC credential and two key pathways to academic success. The key measurement of that success is evident in the post school opportunities TRAC students achieve, whether it be studying at a tertiary level or moving into further vocational training or the workforce.

As many as 40 courses are offered on site at the College, with student choice driving the curriculum offerings. A full suite of Extension subjects are offered, including English and Mathematics Extension 1 and 2, Extension Science and Extension History.

The College has a proud academic history, achieving above State Average levels in a variety of subjects and excellent ATAR results for our students. Students achieving Band 6 results is common, although the College prides itself on students achieving to their full potential and so are as proud of those who achieved to the best of their ability as those who received Band 6 results.

All students are supported by caring, professional teachers who know their students and how they learn. Morning, afternoon, weekend and holiday study sessions are provided for students as they move closer to the examination periods. Homework Help is also available for all students in the Dr Ian Grant Library.

TRAC has a proud history of students completing School Based Apprenticeships or Traineeships. The strength of these programs is evident in the number of employers seeking TRAC students and graduates to add to their business, whether it be local, interstate or overseas.
