Curiosity, Confidence and Direction

In the Junior School, each child begins their learning journey with curiosity, confidence and a growing sense of direction.

Strong Relationships, Supportive Environments

Guided by strong relationships and a supportive environment, students are encouraged to discover their interests, develop their character and build the foundations for a life of possibility. Learning is purposeful and engaging, helping children understand not only what they are learning, but why it matters.

Connected Learning Pathway

TRAC provides a seamless and connected learning pathway from the earliest years through to graduation. Our thoughtfully designed Junior School precinct offers spacious, flexible learning environments that support collaboration, creativity and active exploration both indoors and outdoors. These spaces reflect our belief that children learn best when they feel safe, inspired and connected to their surroundings.

IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)

As an International Baccalaureate World School, TRAC nurtures globally minded learners who are inquisitive, reflective and principled. A rich academic program is complemented by specialist experiences in:

  • Agriculture
  • Languages
  • Physical Education
  • Visual Arts and Music
  • alongside a wide range of co-curricular and sporting opportunities.

Within our classrooms, we also embed explicit, structured and targeted responses to student needs through carefully planned Daily Reviews, targeted small group instruction and ongoing use of data to inform next steps. This approach ensures consistency across the Junior School and supports all students to achieve continued growth in their learning.

Christian Studies and Chapel

Christian Studies and Chapel is an integral part of our Junior School, providing students with opportunities to explore faith, values and biblical teachings in a meaningful and age-appropriate way. Through these lessons, students are encouraged to reflect on kindness, compassion and service, supporting their development as thoughtful and respectful members of our community.

Throughout their Junior School years, students are supported to develop resilience, independence and a strong sense of belonging. By the time they transition to Secondary School, they carry with them not only essential academic skills, but also the confidence and compass needed to navigate future pathways.

At the heart of our Junior School is a strong commitment to student wellbeing and personalised support. We recognise that students learn best when they feel safe, valued, and connected, and we prioritise creating a nurturing environment where every child can thrive both academically and personally.

How we Support your Child

Each student belongs to a House, where they are supported not only by their classroom teacher but also by a dedicated Mentor Teacher.

The Mentor Teacher plays an important role in building positive relationships with students and is someone they can turn to for guidance, encouragement, and support. This additional layer of care ensures that every child has a trusted adult who knows them well and can help them navigate both school and personal challenges.

Our classroom teachers are the first point of contact for parents regarding any matters related to student learning, wellbeing, or support.

We value strong partnerships with families and encourage open, ongoing communication. Our teachers work closely with parents to ensure that each child’s needs are understood and supported effectively.

Supporting our teachers is a professional and caring team who oversee student wellbeing across the Junior School.

This team works collaboratively to monitor student progress, provide targeted support where needed, and ensure that appropriate strategies and interventions are in place. Together, we take a proactive and holistic approach to student care, promoting resilience, positive relationships, and a strong sense of belonging.

By working in partnership with families and maintaining a consistent focus on wellbeing, we aim to help every student feel confident, supported, and ready to learn.
