The Riverina Anglican College aims to offer students rich learning experiences in the development of knowledge and skills. The College is aware that there have been significant changes to the way students prefer to learn and how teachers can facilitate the teaching of 21st century skills such as critical thinking, research, communication, organisation and collaboration. To better accommodate the needs of students in the 21st century, the College asks families to support the College’s mandatory BYO device program.
The Riverina Anglican College is a Google Apps for Education school. Google Apps for Education provides staff and students with unlimited, safe storage space for all learning files and Google Classroom facilitates the organisation of learning in a feedback rich environment. The College provides eTextbooks for students in Stages 4, 5 and 6 as they come with carefully curated online, interactive resources that are engaging, challenging and complement the written resource. All students at the College have access to Education Perfect to supplement their classroom learning.
The BYO Device specifications for The Riverina Anglican College (7-12) students for 2023 are as follows.

Mac or PC (Chromebooks are OK, but may not run specialist software in Y9 - Y12)
The College has a partnership with Learning With Technology (LWT) to supply devices that are commercial grade (more robust) devices, not consumer grade (less able to take the rough and tumble of school life).
The Director of Technology has worked directly with Learning with Technology (LWT) to select a range of devices from approximately $1000 to $2000 that will meet the demands of students and the budget of families at the College.
We recommend using the LWT purchase portal to compare the functions of up to three devices (Mac and PC) side by side in order to get a more granular look at the specs before deciding which is the right one for your child.
The College recommends purchasing the additional 3 Year Onsite Warranty & 3 Year Battery cover at $65.
For even greater coverage the one-off $242 - 3 year warranty on parts and breakage can save some families a considerable amount of money.
