Science

Science is mandatory at Stage 4 (Years 7 and 8 ) and Stage 5 (Years 9 and 10).
Our modern science laboratories enable a variety of practical lessons which give
students a taste of the diverse and exciting areas that science explores.
Classes are not graded, but for Years 9 and 10 TRAC has a special interest Science
Class for those nominated by their teacher as showing a particular enthusiasm for
the subject.

Agriculture is offered as an elective subject in Years 9 and 10.
Physics, Agriculture, Chemistry, Biology and Senior Science are offered for Year 11
and 12 students.

Students have the opportunity at various year levels to nominate for activities such
as the Science and Engineering Challenge, National Youth Science Forum, HESS
Engineering School, Compact’s “Build a Bridge” and Women in Engineering.

We have over the years been able to offer extra activities such as Science in the
Bush, “Off the Planet” and Questacon innovations.
Entry to the NSW University Competition in Science is available to all students in the
junior Years.
