Music

All students have the opportunity to develop their musical abilities and potential through the mandatory Music component of their syllabus as well as the co-curricular programs offered by the College. The College presents a musical every second year and a Performing Arts Evening on alternate years. Elective music students have the opportunity to perform at lunchtime concerts held in the College Library and at various community events.

  • Band – Year 7 & 8 Instrumental programme
    Students in Years 7 & 8 have the opportunity to learn a band instrument as part of their mandatory music classes. Students in the programme receive group lessons in class time. Individual lessons are also available at a cost to parents. Students learning an instrument form part of the College Band which rehearses on Thursdays at lunch time. The College Band  is open to all students.
  • Vocal Ensemble
    Participation in the College Vocal Ensemble is open to all students. rehearsals are on Tuesday at lunchtime. Students learn a wide cross-section of musical styles and genres and will have the opportunity to record a selection of repertoire.
  • Private instrumental/vocal tuition
    Guitar, piano and singing lessons are provided by teachers from the Riverina Conservatorium of Music. This tuition at the College takes place inside the regular teaching timetable and lessons are rotated so that students do not miss the same class each week. There is an additional cost for private tuition.
