English is a compulsory subject for study for all students in Years 7 to 12. It aims to develop the abilities of students in the key skills of Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking, Viewing and Representing. It involves the study of fiction and non-fiction prose, poetry, drama, television, film and electronic media.
Students are able to specialize in senior years, and further their study of literature at Extension level, as well as develop their own Major Project in Film, Creative Writing, Essay and Speech at Extension Two level.
